Ingredients:
- 2 cups rice flour
- 1 cup grated coconut
- 1/2 cup jaggery, grated
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
- Water as needed
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the rice flour, coconut, jaggery, salt, and cardamom powder. Mix well to combine all the ingredients.
- Slowly add water to the dry ingredients and knead the mixture into a smooth dough. The dough should be soft but not sticky.
- Take a small portion of the dough and shape it into small cylindrical or round shapes.
- Place the shaped avayaka on a greased steaming tray or a banana leaf.
- Steam the avayaka for about 15-20 minutes or until cooked through.
- Allow the avayaka to cool down before serving.
- Enjoy the delicious avayaka as a snack or dessert.
