 Ingredients:

  • 2 cups rice flour
  • 1 cup grated coconut
  • 1/2 cup jaggery, grated
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • Water as needed

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the rice flour, coconut, jaggery, salt, and cardamom powder. Mix well to combine all the ingredients.
  2. Slowly add water to the dry ingredients and knead the mixture into a smooth dough. The dough should be soft but not sticky.
  3. Take a small portion of the dough and shape it into small cylindrical or round shapes.
  4. Place the shaped avayaka on a greased steaming tray or a banana leaf.
  5. Steam the avayaka for about 15-20 minutes or until cooked through.
  6. Allow the avayaka to cool down before serving.
  7. Enjoy the delicious avayaka as a snack or dessert.
